Dr. Abdul Odemuyiwa
Dr. Abdul Odemuyiwa, affectionately known as Dr. O.D. by his patients and colleagues, graduated from medical school in 1985. After relocating to the United States in 1996, he completed his Internal Medicine residency at Wayne State University in 2000. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Hospice & Palliative Medicine.
In 2002, Dr. O.D. founded Advanced Internal Medicine in Stockbridge, Georgia. Recognizing the growing impact of obesity on overall health, he later established The Versalo Center, a medical weight loss practice dedicated to helping patients achieve healthier, more fulfilling lives through personalized, evidence-based care.
Throughout his career, Dr. O.D. has cared for countless patients and families affected by obesity and its related health conditions. His experience has reinforced the importance of addressing excess weight to help prevent and manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke, arthritis, and other obesity-related illnesses. His mission is to provide patients with the tools, support, and medical guidance needed to achieve lasting weight loss and improved health.
Leading by example, Dr. O.D. recently lost 20 pounds himself by following the same healthy lifestyle principles he recommends to his patients. His personal success serves as a source of encouragement and demonstrates his commitment to understanding the challenges his patients face.
Dr. O.D. is a proud member of the Obesity Medicine Association and follows evidence-based treatment guidelines to provide safe, effective, and individualized medical weight loss care.
