Dr. Abdul Odemuyiwa popularly called Dr. O.D. by most of his patients and colleagues graduated from medical school in 1985. He moved to the United States in 1996 and completed an Internal Medicine Residency from Wayne State University in the year 2000. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine as well as Hospice and Palliative care. Dr. O.D. established Advanced Internal Medicine a 2 physician practice in Stockbridge Georgia in 2002, shortly thereafter he founded M.D. Weight loss also known as The Versalo Center.

The Versalo Center is a practice dedicated to the management of patients with weight challenges. This was borne out of the fact that Dr. O.D. saw and still sees multiple members of the same family struggling with weight issues all their life which results in a poor quality of life as well as an increase in morbidity and premature death. His extensive in-patient and out-patient experience also made it dawn on him that a lot of chronic illnesses could be prevented and controlled by paying attention to weight and lifestyle.

Dr. O.D. recently lost 20 pounds himself by practicing what he preaches as a source of encouragement to his patients, letting them know they are not alone in this battle. He is a Member of the Obesity Medical Association formerly the American Society of Bariatric Physicians and his practice follows strictly the treatment algorithms that have been laid out by this association
